Paul "the Meatball" Thompson professional boxing debutPromising Nottingham boxer, Paul Thompson, begins his professional boxing career on Saturday 15th September 2018 at Nottingham’s Britannia Hotel in his first professional Super Lightweight bout. Thompson embarks upon his professional career on the back of an amateur career with EBF (European Boxing Federation) which saw him remain unbeaten. Although his record starts afresh upon his professional debut, he is aiming to continue his previous high boxing record.

Thompson, 26, who had a successful athletics career in his youth, began his boxing journey during his time in the military which saw him posted to Afghanistan. Speaking about his professional debut, Thompson said “I’m the fittest I have been in years and the lightest I have ever been and I’m raring to go next month. I have been extensively training, twice a day, six days a week, to reach this point and now I am just excited to get in the ring and show people what I am capable of”. He added that he intended to get back in the ring four weeks after his debut fight, stating that “it has taken quite a while to get my professional licence sorted so now I’m just really keen to get in the ring and get climbing those rankings”.

Paul ‘the Meatball’ Thompson is sponsored by DSR Tax Refunds, a firm of tax rebate specialists who specialise in identifying allowable expenses and he thanked his sponsors for allowing him to be able to train to his full capacity.
